Manav Dharma of Satpalji Maharaj will be better only IF they follow Krishna Consciousness also

OPINION

By elevating yourself to Krishna Consciousness your goal of having a human form of life will be attained easily and quickly as you would qualify to get into the kingdom of God. On the earth too, you will live  in peace of mind. There is not other authentic quick and easy way.

Every one needs peace and thus the human races has been in search of peace and happiness all the time. They are looking for the methods that would hopefully enable them attain peace mentally and physically. In the process some look out for the ascending order of methods, some the descendeing order. Both deserve equall respect although one method would be more beneficial and easy than the other depending on the individual themselves.

The perfect wisdom to accept for peace or liberation is the descending process of wisdom. This means the proces of attaining peace and happiness by accepting the wisdom that is given by the absolute creator, Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This wisdom contain spirituality. It is pure- not contaminated by the concocted ideas of any intelligent individuals, that need no research and is perfect. The sages Arjun mentioned infront of Krishna namely, Asita, Devala, Narad followed this approach that is current all the time. God is perfect in all spheres and the wisdom such as Bhagavad Gita is the perfect knowledge for every body's liberation provided that it is understood and aplied in the same way Arjun did. If the sages of the modern time deserve any credit for their piety and contribution to lift the human race to divinity, then there is only sage to follow. He is His Divine Grace Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada who has built 108 temples, schools and hospitals in all most all the major countries of the world, rendered the Vedic literatures in all the modern languages and showed how to live putting the God in the center of all the activities one does.

The ascending order of method to acquire knowledge  means following the philosophy  researched, composed, thought out or invented by some intellectual individuals.  The knowledge of yoga, peace processess or spirituality that is based on the product of human intelligence is the knowledge of ascending order and that is usually not perfect because human intelligence is defective, contaminated by self-interest as human beings does have the propensities of cheating, the senses are imperfect, deluded and prone to make mistakes. I witnessed some preachings of a cult named Manav Dharma founded by Sri Satpalji Maharaj in India, which to my understanding is following such ascending order of searching for peace, spirituality and ultimately the God. I say this because it sounds in the begining like the religious philosophy that would eleviate one to spirituality but as one goes on following thier prescriptions, one arrives at confussion, due to the fact that, it is not the God centered.  Their gatherings focusses on phenomenal subjects propounded by the preachers of all other religion and little on what is mentioned in the Bhagavatam and Gita, the sastra. Their followers are urged to find god within themselves. This is ofcourse one of the three aspects of understanding god, as said in the sastra- Brahmehti, paramatmeti, bhagavaneti sabdtae. If it is focussed to understand only one of the aspects and take it as the absolute whole, then that understanding is not complete. My opinion is that the Manav Dharma followers of Satpalji Maharaj would need to step ahead to Krishna consciousness, the authenthic process of descendeing order of the Vaisnavism so that they can realize all the three aspects. Without comprehending this basic truth- the three aspects of God realization, but by taking one of the aspects as the 'whole', devotion cannot be developed.  Following any dharma that has no devotion to Bhagavan aspect and that which is produced by any human individuals are, but at the end, cheating only. It is said in Srimad Bhagavad puran - Dharmah projitta kaitava atra-  ''kaitava' means cheating  cheating religion. And that should be sweept out of the mentality- projjita. Brahman realization through meditation or yoga is the realization of God's external effulgence. Paramatma realizes goes even further and by Bhagavan  realization, devotion begins and have the realization of the absolute truth. My basis for writing this as an advice is based on Bhagavad Gita As It Is version and please see the hyperlinks provided.

By stipulating the spiritual wisdom given in the Vedic literature- the descending order as the perfect one to follow,  and commenting that the ascending order of the knowledge produced in this modern time by the people of high social esteem could be imperfect, is not my intention to offend any individuals. Its only to contest against the ascending order of philosophy on the strength of the wisdom that descended from the God- Krishna, namely the Bhagvad Gita- see its As It Is version. I fully appreciate the social work of the Manav dharma cult, as they raise people to the mode of goodness and avoid sinful activities. As well-wisher of them I attempt here to suggest that there is much more to do to attain the goal of life, to get into the paradise. And that is to go beyound the 'manav dharma' and cultivate Krishna consciousness. Being their's well-wisher if I do not point out to them what is best thing to do spiritually, then I would feel obstinate. I faithfully wish for their welfare in this life and beyound- to their souls.
Sri Satpalji Maharaj in different faces. Left to right: in India, on the palanquin, with wife and son on a sova yatra, in Bhutan gho dressed, in Nepal with daura sural dress,  and at last,  his murti for future worship.
Now let us look into few cases of approach for peace as practised by the followers of Krishna consciouness and the followers of Manav Dharma, so that one would undestand to differentiate which is better for his or her own salvation. The followers of Krsna Cconsciousness, known in the West as Hare Krsna's belong to the disciplic succession of Brahma Gaudiya sampradaya. This succession has unbroken link to the Supreme, The Lord Krishna. Thus those who join to chant the mahamantra - Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krsna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare, if sincere effort is put into, will qualify one to enter into the kingdom of God - Goloka and would not loose the way because of the sampradaya link. Chanting this mantra is the Yuga dharma of this modern age and one can achieve the perfection simply by this process, as in the previous yugas was attainable by doing years of meditation in satya yuga, fire ceremoney in treta and deity worship in dwaper yuga. Chanting cleanses the heart, annoits love in their vision that enable one see the Lord, develops devotion and attain peace in this earth as well as liberation in the after-life. One who develop the love of god and attains His kingdom, one never has to come back to this material nature where the cycle of birth, ageing, disease and death continues in cycle. Lord Krishna promissed this and also told how the Kingdom of God looks like in Bhagavad Gita 15.6 This is the goal of the human form of life- liberation. This highest goal of the human form of life is not made to understand in Satpalji's manav dharma, nor mentions this highest wisdom as presented in the Gita or about its propunder, the God Krishna,  in thier gatherings called satsang. Therefore they are being bewildered because their goal of the human form of life may not be acheived unless they move ahead of the philosophy of Satpalji and face  the God realization- whatever the god's name one may call- such as Allah, Buddha, Jesus etc.

What will happen to those who do not worship the God/Bhagavan Sri Krishna, and worships devatas or demi-gods or other individuals is also clearly given in the Bhagavad Gita- yanti deva pitrin yanti. Whatver philosophy or path one may follow, will reach to the same destination; God, is not supported by Bhagavad Gita. So what is the use of worshiping some one who may be of divine family or who may awaken within you some light through the yoga process or may have changed your life into better, if the goal of life cannot be attained and has to take birth on this earth in various forms of body, necessarily that may not be of the human form? So better way of life is the life of Krishna consciousness because even if one cannot completely purify himself and qualify to enter into the kingdom of God, Krishna promisses that his devotees will never be vanquished. Incompleteness in Krishna consiounness saves one atleast from the great danger of being born as beast and other creatures but gets the chance to be born in the rightious human family so that he can continue his devotion to get perfection, the liberation.

The science of the devotional service or the Krishna consciousness does not give temptation such as opening a third eye, divine eye, burning light in the heart etc because it renders in you the highest process. All other processess of self realization are step by step ladder approach. The Krishna consciousness movement is the way of a lift, not ladder as it approaches the highest method descended from the absolute divine. Manav dharma preacers are to my observation give temptation to the masses such as opening a divine eye so that one only then sees the God. To support this they say that only after Krishna gave divine eye to Arjun, Arjun could see God and recognise, although that was not possible while Arjun and Krishna were always together. This is not true. Arjun recognised Krishna as God as mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita chapter 4. Later Arjun wanted to prove for others that Krishna is the God by asking Him to show his Universal form- Virat rupa in chapter 11.  When this form was shown, Arjun was frightened and  his love to Krishna was out of shape since its very difficult to love something impersonal. So then Arjun asked Krishna to show His original sacidananda two handed human type of form so that the exchange of love will be easy. Thefore it is always better to engage in Krsna consciousness then remain satisfied in manav dharma and other cults which would not take one to attain the God. One who  attains the love of God will love purely to all sentient beings.

As for the light within, Satpalji suggests to do breathing exercises and meditation. This is good in the sense that it helps one maintain good health and coltrol the senses. Through the lifting of chakras one gets some supper powers. Yet Arjun did not accept such meditation- dhyana yoga  process of self realization saying that mind is impossible to control. Then the Lord Krishna recommended the Bhakti yoga process and declared that devotion, or becoming Krihna consciousness is the topmost Yoga. One who chants the mahamantra to always think of Krishna and engages his/her senses including mind is the highest of all yogi. Thefore the meditation as taught in the Manav dharma alone is not complete and appears unsuccessful for liberation bacause it was already rejected by Arjun about five thousand years ago when the environment for the meditation was far better than today.  The Vedic sastra recommends to meditate upon the name, form and pasttimes of Krishna- and become His devotee, so then it is better for the Manav dharma followers also to step ahead to this Krishna consciousness. Seeing God as the divine light only is the impersonal approach, also it  means trying to understand God from a great distance. From the distance of the spiritual planets, one sees first the light called Brahma jyoti, but its better to enter into that spiritual planet to uderstand the fact perfectly and engage in the devotional service, as mentioned in the Brahma Samhita. That is the science  of Krishna consciousness.

Culturally Manav dharma of Satpaliji maharaj is quite enjoyable. It is the followers who makes  their spiritual masters or leaders great or infidle. Also its the leaders following whom one reaches either to heaven or hell. Its the human as well as animal tendency to follow one or the other leader. Manav dharma followers addressess each other as Premi to males and Baiju to females. Baijus are preachres mostly dressed in safron. Male preachers are addressed as mahatma and  claim this as their sanyas order of life. But they hardly preach the science of the soul, as the part and parcel of God. To their understanding, God has no form - niraakar and thus deity worship is following a taboo. This statement itself proves thier deviated conction from the sastra  since non of the vedic literature propounds that the God is formless, like the light one may see within, has no form. God has form, He is the seed giving father of all creatures. God Krishna is the source of everything and not anybody else, whether incarnation or expansions or representatives. God's energy is niraakar; formless eg. bramhajyoti effulgence. So its better to engage in the loving service of the energetic- Krishna, and not stick only to His energy. Thus its better for the Manav dharma devotees to step up to Krishna consciousness. Although they remain in the relative level of consciousness, they cooperate very nicely and when any reception is to be arranged for their master Satpalji and his wife or sons, it is arranged majestically. This is a very nice. Guru must be given the highest respect. But of this, one can say that culture can be created, kept as a tradition, contested and even can also be destroyed. Manav dharma's cultural expression that the god has no form and thus the deity worship is not recommended and even the images of Gods placed in the shrines of their followers are replaced by the fotos of Satpalji himself alone is proof of this factual trend. Deity worship prevailed from the Dwaper yuga and this if tried to be replaced by new cultural emancipation is the offense to the Sanatan dhrama.  Satpalji is revered by their followers as par to God, and yatras are organised carrying him in the palanquin. Some of his followers claim Satpalji as the god in the human form, sying 'the God appeared in the previous yugas in their spiritual bodily form like Sri Vishnu, Ram or Krishna and now the God wanted to appear in the human form in this age- that is Satpalji. Even the arati to him is sung with this cannotations.  In Krishna consciousness, we observe such grandness only to the Lord Krishna and pay respect to all the devatas and men. If some one claims as God then it is wise to use Arjun's method of asking him to show the universal form, or to lift the Goverdhan hill. Krishna who appeared (not materially born) as the son of Vasudev and Devaki proved his supremacy as the god through countless pasttimes like lifting the Goverdhan hill, showing the universal aspect of him and ofcourse killing terrible demons although he looked young. Krishna is the God and that He has not become so by way of yoga practices.

Satpalji appears in different costumes in different communities- while visiting Nepal in the traditional Nepalese dress, in Bhutan in Drukpa gho costumes and in Punjab as a Punjabi. His visit to Bhutan was a success that no other Indian spirituel leaders could make until now. The Bhutanese media reported his visit as promotion of Drukpa national dress- gho, among the Hindu minorities. A democratic Indian spiritual as well as a political leader, Satpalji in Drukpas dress addressing the public on the sanatan dharma was a big blow to the conservators of the vedic traditon and the Hindu citizens since the Bhutanese Lhotshampa minoritiy citizens has been against the government's rule to compulsorily wear  the Drukpa dress during the Hindu religious ceremonial occassions. While the master Satpalji is rarely seen wearing the devotee's sanyas safron dress, how his disciples aquire that mandate is a rhetoric in manav dharma perhaps not recommended by the literatures of the descending order. A wise person would not believe the teachings of this order. His message, 'seek first the kingdom of heaven and everything else will be given to you' is ofcourse true, therefore one should look into the Vedic sastra of the descending order like the description of Goloka; the kingdom of God, given in the Gita and in Srimad Bhagavatam. But one hears mostly in the manav dharma satsang to focus on awakening light within and then move to surrender towards 'Hamsa maharaj, his own father.

Dharma means to attain God - dharma tu saksadh bhagavad pranitam. In order to attain God the established process is the devotional service to God. Render devotional service to the God; bhagavan, and not necessirily to devatas or men, is actually the eternal religion, called sanatan dharma. But in the satsang of manav dharma focus is not given in this fact, where as we in Hare Krsna movement do this devotion very sincerely.
Satpalji's son Vibhu addressing manav dharma in Amsterdam

Satpalji's one of the sons has also begun going round the globe addressing the public about his father's cult. ' Be human before you choose to become a Hindu, Buddhist, Christian or Moslim'  is the slogan mostly broadcasted, but in doing so how one becomes a proper human is not explained out of the Vedic literatures. We in Hare Krsna explain this in a simple way. If one engages only in four activities like eating, sleeping, mating and defending, that is also being done by animals, then one is on the level of animalism consciousness. So rise up beyound these four activities and engage in the devotional service to God. That is humane because animals cannot do that, only human beings can. So engage in the devotional service as mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita As It Is. So if you wish to be good a follower of the manav dharma, practice this process of the devotional service. It is very easy and pleasing. If you do not have anything just offer a green leef and water universally available to Krishna with love and whatever you do, do it for Krishna the Supreme Godhead as He Himself has recommended.

Satpalji's son Vibhu, a young man in western dress, annexxed with the title of maharaj, on  4th August 2012 was in Amsterdam addressing a gathering of about a hundred people. It was his second address I have seen. In his first visit last year I presented him a Bhagavad Gita As It Is version. This time I asked him if he read that Gita. Ýes I read' he said. Later in his address to the public he stiplulated the dualistic nature of life and urged to go beyound that dualities to attain peace in mind. He did not point out the way beyound the dualities. Instead he criticized those who chants the holy name of the God in beads, the process to cross over the duallities.

Going beyound the dualities means to serrender unto the God Krishna. Surrender unto God is the sanatan dharma, a process to get rid of all sins and attain the kingdom of God. Lord Krishna calls in the Bhagavad Gita to give up all such man made religion and surrender unto Him. But Satpalji and his sons oppose this or simply avoids their followers to do this.  He said,  'calling the name of God and pulling beads will not help, like if you are thirsty you should go to the water source and drink it so that your thirst will be quenched and you will be happy. Just calling water water will not help'. To the trancendentalists, this statement is rediculous and to me it seemed that Vibhu has not read the Bhagavad Gita. The fact is that the God is spiritual the God's name is identical to the God, so chanting the God's name on the beads will address the God that has equall power of God Himself. God's name is not material like water and the name- water; is a material substance. God, Krishna who appeared in Vrindaban as the son of Vasudev, is God,  in His spiritual bodily form. God comes from the spiritual abode and the God's name  is loaded with the spiritual potenties.

I asked to Vibhu, whether the followers of the manav dharma believe that Satpalji is God? He neither said 'yes, nor, no'. He said its better not to talk about God as it would bring divisions and conflict. God is something to be realised from within and accept the one who could change for better, he said.  There are many great personalities who could revolutionize the world, but what is the benifit of their change in life if one ultimately is not liberated from the cycle of birth, ageing, disease and death?

The only process, joyfully performed and surely liberates one from this cycle is by becoming Krishna conscious. It is simple. Just chant the mahamantra sincerely. You will see by yourself the change not only for this life but also better for the life after. Chanting the Gods name will have the spiritual effect, so chanting Hare Krsna mantra that has God and His energy's name is identical to God and is thus the perfect approach instead, recommended in the Vedic wisdom. So why not chant Hare Krishna mahamantra: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna. Krishna Krishna Hare Hare. Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare,  and go back to the kingdom of God and enjoy the life of eterneity. There is no other better process than this.          Gautam

Dear Gautam ji,
I have a question that somebody like you could answer. In Gita it is said -

sri-bhagavan uvaca
imam vivasvate yogam
proktavan aham avyayam
vivasvan manave praha
manur iksvakave 'bravit

That means Lord Krishna (existing at that time in his universal form) says to Arjuna that he gave this knowledge to Sun in the begining of the world and from there it went to Manu >> Iksvaku >> and then Rajrishis etc.

Question is: If this "knowledge" was being given by Unviersal God at the begining of the world then in what language was it? Surely none of the languages e.g. Sanskrit, Latin or Greek were there AS IT WAS THE BEGINGING OF WORLD.

Same thing BIBLE also says "IN THE BEGINING OF WORLD THERE WAS WORD i.e. "NAAM" AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD AND WORD WAS GOD.

BIBLE does not claim JESUS to be there before everybody else???

In Essence, I belive all the prophets / Gods / messangers either indian Dashawatars (Krishna is one of them) or Western JESUS , MOSES or Arabic MOUHAMMAD SAHIB - they all came to remind mankind and establish Dharama and experience the holy name of GOD or as called AVYAKATA AKSHAR - unspeakable name of GOD.

I don't find the mantra Hare Krishna Hare Krishan ... as the "holy name" of god mentioned even in GITA. Its only Krishan bhakta keep saying that and Ram Bhakta fight for "Hare RAMA ...". That way BIBLE can fight for JESUS JESUS or JOHN - JOHN ... but we don't.

Please explain this basic - if you can without being baised to Krishna and being against other religions Ram Bhakti or Bible or Islam.

Curiosity!

Our answer:

10 October 12. Whoever has commented above, every one's enthusiam to read the spiritual subject matters given in this site is highly appreciated. It is a healthy social issue to discuss on such transcendental matters as has been the tradition to discuss, raise doubts openly and seek asnwers from the learned one in de Vedic tradition. The above article is written with my good faith and intention, absolutely not to defame or blashphame anyone concerned. I respect Satpalji maharaj and his family and disciples without any malice and my writing here is not intended against the person or the organisation they run. The intention in this article is to highlight between the highly beneficial and less beneficial approaches in pursuing the spirituality and this is being done by quoting the philosophical approaches presented by Manav Dharma cult and the Hare Krsna movement. Social entity or organised religion whatever is, in a sense is a public market place that displays its products (like whatever Manav dharma preachers has or Vaisnava's) and try to convience others that what he displayed is the best. Such is the contest I have begun in the begining of the article, ie to contest the philosophy presented, not personal. My arguements why vaisnavism is better than the  other cult is supported by the statements given in the Bhagavad Gita As It Is version only- see hyperlinked. But since there are more than 600 different types of explannations of the same Bhagavad Gita, every readers of this version will have different understanding. An example of this cross difference, see for example the chapter 8 verse 3 of Bhagavad Gita As It Is version and others used by the Manav dharma.
Lord Krishna told to Arjun:
sri-bhagavan uvaca
aksaram brahma paramam
svabhavo 'dhyatmam ucyate
bhuta-bhavodbhava-karo
visargah karma-samjnitah

SYNONYMS of the sanskrit words:
sri-bhagavan uvaca--the Supreme Personality of Godhead said; aksaram--indestructible; brahma--Brahman; paramam--transcendental;svabhavah--eternal nature; adhyatmam--the self; ucyate--is called;bhuta-bhava-udbhava-karah--action producing the material bodies of the living entities; visargah--creation; karma--fruitive activities;samjnitah--is called.
TRANSLATION
The Supreme Lord said, The indestructible, transcendental living entity is called Brahman, and his eternal nature is called the self. Action pertaining to the development of these material bodies is called karma, or fruitive activities.
Source : Bhagavad Gita As It Is 8.3 Here you see that the word 'aksaram' is translated as: indestructible, refering to the brahman or the soul as eternal and cannot be killed, as it is the part and parcel of parabrahma, the supersoul; the God. The next verse explains on this further and substantiate that 'akasram' meant by the Lord indeed as 'indestructible'.

In other edition of Bhagavad Gita, the word 'aksaram' is translated as the 'word' the avyakta aksara- unspeakable word'  as one of the Manav dharma preachers told me. Then the whole context changes, opinion changes. Now which translation is right? Everyone have the right to freedom of opinion and expression and I respect that too. If there is no guilt in mind of one's deeds, there would be no room to feel challanged, defamed, blashphmed  etc as it is about the spiritual matters, the cosmos, which is always debated time immemorial.

Now let me answer to the enquiries raised above.

You have quoted the 1st verse of the chapter 4 of Bhagavad Gita. This verse explains the history of Bhagavad Gita presented originally by the Lord Sri Krishna. Ofcourse more than 600 personalities have recently commented on Bhagavad Gita, most of them for the commercial and personal gratification purposes. That is why people are bewildered from the absolute truth. Now the best edition is the one purported by a devotee of the Lord, and that is the Bhagavad Gita as it is version. I recommend you to read this so that you will understand the truth as it is.

The next verse that followed your quotation tells about the proceedures that the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita is being passed down in the parampara system. So the point is, if one wants to know the absolute truth without any adulteration, one has to join the system or sampradaya which is linked with the disciplic or parampara succession. There are four authentic paramparas namely, Brahma sampradaya that begun from Brahmaji. Rudra sampradaya from the Lord Shiva. Sri or Laksminarayan sampradaya by Luxmidevi maa and kumar sampradaya established by the first four sons of Brahmaji. If one joins this sampradaya or takes the guru connected to these sampradaya, the wisdom passed down is perfect one because they pass down what is given in that parampara, the descending order, and not manufactured by themselves. A true guru is one that imparts the knowledge given by the Lord Krishna and established according to these parampara. Others who establish themselvs as gurus and not impart the knowledge of the absolute truth as given by Krishna to Arjun, and manufactures own philosophy is considered as a bogus guru, the one that do not represent Krishna's. All your answers to your enquiry is given in the Bhagavad Gita  As It is, so do read that for further answers.

As regard to the language,as you said which langauge was spoken as it was the begening of the world?,it is simple to understand. God existed before the creation of the entire universes. God is not dumb. When he could create the entire universes, how can he not have a language created? God is Krishna who appeared also as the son of Vasudev and played a role in the Mahabharat. That person who was with Arjun right infront of him driving his chariot is the God Krishna, who created everything, as he Himself told in Bhagavad Gita chapetr 10, verse 8 and in many other places. So he had the language that is Sanskrit, as you know this language is the oldest one and the mother of all other languages. The universal form that Krishna showed to Arjun as his another form where everything rests is just a manifestation of Krishna's cosmic form. Manav dharma tells that this cosmic form is the God. It is not true becasue they tell that the one who (Krishna) possesed that form is not the God. Krishna possesses everything including that universal form that is why Krishna is God. Arjun's illussion over the conception of the God was already solved and then only he asked Krishna to show that form for sure that he is God and that can also be a method to ask for proof in future if someone like Satpalji or Rajnish or anyone claims to be God.

Indeed Jesus did not claim to be there before everybody else. He did not mention in the bible how the universes are created. That is why Westerners have the tendency to speculate in various ways. But in the Vedas, mainly in the Srimad Bhagavad Puran it is clearly mentioned how the universes are created and are being maintained. You read this before getting fooled by the Western philosophy. Its unfortunate that the vedic cultural followers of Indian subcontinent are bent upon the Western renderings and look down against their own wisdom given in this descending order.

The Hare Krishna followers who are connected to above sampradaya believes on the Supreme Lord Krishna and tries to understand Bhagavad Gita in the same way as Arjun understood from krishna and became Krishna conscious. Please try to do this way for your ultimate benefit.

In the Hare Krishna movement, there is the essence of every other religious faiths. Say for example, the essence of Christianity is to love God. We Hare Krshna's do love God absolutely. The essence of Islam is to serve God,and we serve God with love all the time. Buddhist's conclussion is ahimsa- non violence. Hare Krishna's are totally non violent as they are vegetarian and avoids hurting anyone. So why not join this movement.

As to your enquiry that Rama bhakta fights against Krshna bhaktas, I would say any true devotee will not fight. Only those who acts in the name of so called devotee will fight.

Yes many profound personalities did came to remind mankind the true nature of the God and the purpose to be god conscious. That is why they stressed to chant the name of God and that in this modern age the chanting of the Hare Krishna mahamantra is recommended.

You said that the chanting of the Hare Krishna mahamantra for absolute salvation is not mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita. It is given in the Bhagavd Gita chapter 9 verse 34 and also at the end- srava dharma parutyja.. Surrendering begins with the name of the Lord and how to engage in His service. This chanting is also elaborated in the upanisads and Sri Caitanya Bhagavata. I quote here from Kali Santarana upanisad about chanting:

Hare Krsna Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna Hare Hare. Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare. Iti sodasakam namnam kalikalmasa nasanam. nataha parataropayaha, sarva vedesu drisyate. Meaning:
After searching through all the vedic literatures, one cannot find a method of religion more sublime for this age than the chanting of this Hare Krsna mantra.

In this kali yuga one can simply by chanting the Holy name attain the goal of life easily. ISKCOn has compiled a book of 700 pages out of the various Vedic literatures illustrating the chanting of the mahamantra. This book entitled Sri Namamrita, if you read will find yourself thousands of authentic verses recommending the chanting of the Mahamantra:

Having mentioned to these revealed literatures I am not bias to Krishna. We present the fact boldly. It is up to you to understand accordingly.

Offerings to His Holiness Jayapataka Swami Maharaj
